This past week was Confirmation Sunday! If you missed it, we got to celebrate 6 out of 10 Confirmands in both services!   

Confirmation is an intentional, community-building class that meets each fall semester in High School Ministry (HSM). This year, we spent time together reading, discussing, and learning about the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), the sacraments of the Presbyterian church, and what it means to join First Pres as Covenant Partners! We've spent the last few months doing life together with our leaders, all four pastors, and each other. Even amidst COVID precautions and different quarantines, we were able to meet and find creative ways to continue learning and meeting together! Zoom quickly became our best friend as we navigated this crazy pandemic season together.  

Here's a quote from one our Confirmands that brings us deep hope for our next generation of church leaders: "I've learned that we don’t get to earn our way to Heaven but we actually get to claim God’s gift for us by living our lives like Jesus."

Confirmation is a sweet season of life at First Pres. that establishes students as HSM members and Covenant Partners. We are so blessed by the growth and community that has come out of our meetings together and look forward to continually growing together as THE class of 2020 Confirmands here at FPC!
