What to Expect

Whether you're a lifelong church-goer or this is your first time in a church, you will find a warm welcome at First Presbyterian Church. Our hope is that you will take the next step into this community of faith. We invite you to be our guest this weekend and experience FPC for yourself.

When are your worship services?

8:15 a.m. Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)
11:00 a.m. The Bridge Worship (Chapel)
11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)

Come at 8:15 am to experience a traditional service- complete with organ, choir, hymns, Holy Communion, and a formal liturgy- in our Sanctuary.

The two 11:00 am services offer worship in the Sanctuary, as well as in the Chapel.  In the sanctuary, you'll find a more traditional service. In the Chapel, you'll find guitars, keyboards, drums, and contemporary songs in The Bridge service.

All worship services have similiar structure in terms of the order of service and scripture for the message. Communion is served the first Sunday of each month in the 11 am Sanctuary service and every week in the 8:15 and Bridge services. Pick the service that is most convenient and the best fit for you. We recommend that you arrive approximately 10 minutes before any service to prepare your hearts for worship.

Discover First Class

Discover First classes are a series of classes offered periodically during the year, led by Pastor Steve Schorr, for people who are new members, visitors, and those who may be interested in joining the First Presbyterian Church family, exploring and discussing the variety of ministries and mission opportunities at First Presbyterian and introducing staff members and church leaders.

How do I get to there?

First Presbyterian is located at 800 W. Texas Avenue in Midland, TX 79701. We are in downtown Midland directly south of Midland High School across Illinois Street. Click here for a map. Our phone number is (432) 684-7821 should you need more help in finding us.

What will my kids experience?

We work hard in our children's ministry to make sure that your children come to a safe, fun, and loving environment. When your kids enter our program, they will experience Biblical learning, fellowship with other kids and a great time with teachers. Our dedicated volunteers and staff strive each week to make Sunday mornings to be the best hours of the week! Email nursery@fpcmid.org or cmee@fpcmid.org for more information. LEARN MORE

Do you have something for students?

Absolutely! If you are a junior high or high school student, you will find many opportunities to get involved- not only on Sunday mornings, but also in other weekly and monthly activities throughout the year. Whether it's investing in relationships to grow yourself in faith, or helping others in our community and beyond, we hope that you will join us so that you can experience a place "where you fit".
